British made wool scarf

my story

Designer and founder Gabrielle set up her luxury knitwear business after graduating from Winchester University. She started to gradually sell her wares after her final collection went on display at various graduate shows. She absolutely loved seeing the reaction on peoples faces and having that personal one on one experience with each customer. After she graduated from Winchester University she moved back to sunny, creative Brighton where she worked for various knitwear and interior companies before deciding to pursue her passion full time. Gabrielle now works from home, designing and creating every piece with the help from a small team of knitters who all work on vintage knitting machines using traditional hand crafted techniques. Each piece of knitwear is inspired by memories and nature, living between the beautiful seaside and rugged south downs means Gabrielle is never short of inspiration!

"I absolutely love what I do and feel lucky everyday to be working on something that I'm so passionate about! Each piece of knitwear is made with love and care and I hope you love the collection as much as I do.” Gabrielle Vary

our products

All Gabrielle Vary pieces are originals, designed, knitted and finished by hand to make each item absolutely unique. Working in her East Sussex studio Gabrielle designs every item herself, knitting them on a domestic knitting machine, then finishing them off by hand, sewing them into beautiful creations. Gabrielle uses only the finest cotton and lambs' wool, combining to create the ultimate in luxury, design and feel. All Gabrielle Vary products are made using the finest lambswool, sourced from a luxury British wool spinner who supply to the likes of Chanel and Burberry. They are a family run business who have been trading since 1766 in Yorkshire, making our products truly British. Gabrielle prides herself on the quality of her products from design to production; once you have a piece of the Gabrielle Vary collection you won't look back, if cared for properly it will last for years to come.
